OmniLabs Technologies (“OmniLabs”, “we”, “us”) builds custom software, AI, and automation for businesses from Vancouver, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through omnilabstech.com and in conversations with prospective clients, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
We handle personal information in line with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form, we receive your full name, email address, and question. You can also choose to share your phone number, company, and how you heard about us. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you include in that conversation.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs when you visit: IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of each request. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss a possible project;
- prepare proposals, deliver services you engage us for, and invoice for them;
- protect the website against abuse and fix technical problems;
- meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for purposes you would not reasonably expect without asking you first.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. If we add analytics or other cookies, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
Consent
By submitting the contact form, you consent to our use of your information as described here. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. Withdrawing consent may limit how we can help you, for example if we no longer have a way to reply.
When we share information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who host the website, deliver email, and process form submissions for us. They may use the information only to provide that service.
- Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, under a duty of confidentiality.
- Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.
- A successor business if OmniLabs is involved in a merger or sale, under protections equivalent to this policy.
Some service providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, the information is subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it.
Client project data
When we build software for a client, we may handle personal information that belongs to the client’s customers or staff. That information is governed by our written agreement with the client. We use it only to perform the work, and we follow the client’s instructions for access, retention, and deletion.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected or as the law requires. Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 24 months of our last contact. Business records are kept for the periods required by Canadian tax law.
How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, access limited to people who need it, and multi-factor authentication on the systems we use. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Send requests to the email address below. We respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will tell you before it takes effect.
